Mixed Media Workshop - (Level 2 adults)
In this super fun and creative workshop for adults, we'll explore mixed media art further, expanding on the learning from Level 1 with more techniques to combine artistic mediums and create unbelievably cool effects. Each student will produce a bundle of mini-paintings to keep, display, give away, make into cards or whatever use inspires you!

***This workshop is highlighting the "photo transfer technique" where you can easily adhere a photo to wood or another surface. Upon registering, students will get an email asking for a photo or two they would like to use, and I will print them for you.

This workshop is perfect for you if:
- You have an itch to create but don't know where to start.
- You love the idea of combining mediums, and want some guidance to get you going.
- You have some art experience and want to expand your horizons.
- You like to doodle or colour in adult colouring books and want to take things to the next level.
- You like the idea of art as a meditative practice.
Each student will create a series of experimental mini-paintings that they can take home in their own unique "Inspiration Bundle".
They can then use the bundle to spark inspiration at home whenever their creativity needs a boost! Your mini-paintings can also be framed, given away, made into cards or whatever other use you are inspired by.

Whether you want to create beautiful art for your home, for gifts, to send as cards or even to sell, this workshop will open up lots of creative doors for you as you experience playing with a wide variety of art supplies.
I discovered the healing powers of art for myself as I dealt with a cancer diagnosis and 16 months of multiple surgeries, chemo and radiation. Right after my treatment ended, my Dad was very sick and needed a lot of help. I spent months with him and then he passed. Needless to say, I had a lot of stress, anxiety about the future and grief during that time.
Working on art kept me grounded, focused on something positive and able to keep my head above water despite all my challenges. I know I would have had a much harder time without my art practice to escape to.
It became my passion to help other people experience this kind of healing, so I started offering workshops!

This is an adult workshop for anyone 18+.

Here's the first stage of a photo transfer work in progress. I've transferred a printout of this old photo of my mom and me. Next I will be adding paint and colour to bring it to life. This technique opens unlimited creative doors and is perfect for nostalgic and treasured custom art pieces.
Mixed Media allows you to use each medium to its best advantage. Here I'm combining the flowing luminescent look of watercolours with blended coloured pencils, goauche, paint pens and gel pens. Layering an opaque medium over watercolour creates beautiful effects and the gel pens and paint pens make the subtle details really pop!
In this photo, a student is working on a cute Halloween themed decoration. The skeleton is done using photo transfer and she's added lettering and details with stamps.
